Okay, the positive reinforcement thing is more a Non-American phenomenon. I'd recommend looking up Greenland and it's system of dealing with criminals. Of course if this sort of system was proposed to Americans, Conservatives would rebel or something. But it is effective. I know America and Greenland are two very different places and societies, but I think something that based itself more like Greenland's system...
:) Opinions are fine to have. ^^
OH GOD that movie. I know a lot of people don't like Moore but I think he's not only right most of the time, but hilarious. Hey if conservatives can have their talking heads (Rush, Hannity, etc) we can damn well have ours.
We probably have some things we disagree on or agree on at a superficial level, but it is great to have someone who more or less thinks the same. I'm surrounded all day by conservatives, so I guessI had to research all this stuff in order to keep up with their "facts" and it's nice not to have to argue with someone.
It isn't that I like money, and I agree mostly with what you're saying about money. It's just, that kind of thing can't be implemented all at once. Because there are all these people who get upset enough about "having to pay for your child's healthcare," and "welfare checks," saying how peoplejust don't WANT towork. And I know that's wrong, I know a lot of people have disabilities that makes it impossible to get out of the house or function well in a social environment. Most jobs don't even pay enough to live on properly.
Beside's, it's basically communism you're talking about. That kind of thing has to come in increments. You can't just make an entire (300,000,000+) society who has fought communist countries several times into a communist or even socialist country. It has to happen gradually. Let's get our Universal Health Care first. Then we'll get our Universal High Learning. Baby steps, and I know we would both like to see it all happen NOW, the backlash would be brutal.
Yes,like John McCain. He was never a good guy in my opinion, but he was less horrible than he was during his campaign where he basically let Palin sow seeds of racism and hatred and an "Us vs Them," mentality. I don't think McCain necessarily believes that. He geniunely seems like he doesn't. But he tried to use those tactics.
